We can help you make a new claim for Universal Credit, from opening your account to receiving your first full payment. Our team of trained advisers can help you:
- set-up your Universal Credit account
- complete your claim to-dos
- verify your identity
- make sure you’re providing the right evidence to the Jobcentre
- understand what Universal Credit will mean for you.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak we’ve stopped running drop-in sessions at our offices and Jobcentres. You can still use the national helpline and webchat service if you need help.

Our national helpline is open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Calls to this number are free.
Get help online
You can talk to a webchat adviser on the Help to Claim page of the Citizens Advice website. Chat is usually available 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. If no advisers are available, the chat box won’t appear.
