  • Time running out to distribute winter hardship funds

Today we signed an open letter asking Wandsworth Council to improve their delivery of the Household Support Fund. Only 15% of the money has been distributed and time is running out to get it to residents struggling with the rising cost of living. The seven local charities who signed the letter said:

“Too many low-income residents have been left out in the cold by Wandsworth Council’s poor delivery of the £2 million Household Support Fund it received from central government last autumn…

It’s now vital that Wandsworth Council’s actions match its words for our lowest-income residents. It must ensure that every penny of the £2 million Household Support Fund reaches the pockets of people in most need now – and especially by 31 March, when any unspent hardship funding returns to central government”.

You can read the full letter here.
